Day Two
Day 2:
Mood: 4/10 - Today was hard. No enthusiasm for anything.
Energy: 3/10 - Similar to yesterday. Difference is I'm not really ill anymore, it's just the withdrawal starting. Speaking of...
Withdrawals? Body and mind are beginning to miss processed food and sugar. Felt so sluggish all day.
Ate/Drank:
- Pear for breakfast.
- Lunch - two venison burgers with peri peri sauce.
- Dinner - Two turkey burgers with homemade chips, guacamole & red peppers.
- Drank: 2.5 litres water, 3 cups of peppermint/detox tea.
The best way insight I can give you into today is that despite all of my mental enthusiasm for the journey ahead, I had to absolutely force myself into writing this blog because I just have nothing this evening. I am tired, I am irritated and my head hurts.
I read the Whole30 book today. Happily I learned that the ideals and principals behind it marry up with what I am trying to achieve. It is not a diet. The idea is not to lose weight. It's a lifestyle change with the concept being you remove everything that could be causing you damage or irritating YOU specifically (which is important..everyBODY is different). I learned all about the 'reintroduction plan' after the month is up, in which you slowly add things back in for a day, see how you feel and eat clean for a couple days thereafter. The end goal is not lose weight and end up back where you were, it's break your addictions and then take stock and see where you are when you get to the other side. I need that clarity right now.
